Urban Meyer Stepping Down at Florida??

According to the WorldWide Leader, Urban Meyer will be stepping down, and will no longer be the head coach of the Florida Gators. No specific details were given, but it has been confirmed by the UF Athletic Director.

What this means for Cintuckyians is that the Bearcats now may have a chance against UF in the Sugar Bowl. How strange would it be to see two of the top 5 teams in the nation who combined to only lose one game this year play in a bowl game without both head coaches?

More on this tomorrow as well as our Bengals gameday updates and recap. We'll be getting started around noon tomorrow so be sure to join us for the game!!

  1. If the reports are true and it's due to health reasons and he's not taking another job, then I think it actually hurts the Bearcats. I'd say the Gators will be ready to go if its Tebow and Meyer's last game.

  2. It does appear that it is health reasons, but nothing serious. I think the tole of running that program is starting to wear him down and he is tired of missing valuable time with his wife and children. As much as we hate the Gators we do wish Urban and his family the best, but hopefully for our Bearcats he will be a loser in his last game.

  3. Does anyone else think UF will have a similar who cares attitude toward this game like Oklahoma did last year. I just can't see them getting fired up to play UC except for the Tim Tebow last game garbage. (I personally am glad he is finally out of the SEC.) I hope I'm wrong and the Gators win by 70 or so.
